Don′t we tend to do this a little around our BIRTHDAYs?
We take inventory of the good times had in the past and where we′ve come to … and we think a bit about what direction we′re heading. Or maybe that’s just me?? But that’s exactly where I am right now.
 
Typically, I tend to focus on living in the “now” rather than hanging out in Memoryville … but having just turned 28, I’m taking a pause-for-the-cause to better figure out what direction I’m heading. And I’m still surprised at how much has changed in what seems like such a short period of time (but, in reality, it’s been YEARS)…

I reMember sitting with a friend in a seminar and day-dreaming about how great it would be to accomplish $4000 per month from a business … or even reaching just $1000 per month extra! Sometime later, I replaced my full-time $1500/month cook income and quit Cactus Club Restaurants … and was ecstatic about it. …

I worked HARD for that modest income level… “hard” not “smart”! It was a result of doing a LOT of things wrong but which still produced mediocre results and then just doing it again and again until I reached my goal.

Sleep and I didn′t get along well back in those days. I was bull-headed and not willing to follow a proven path or take advice … even though I had no formal training or schooling. But I was willing to do the work. Time went on, my skills developed and I produced my first $1000+ day… a BIG achievement because it got me thinking of a regular $30k/month income (ie: $1000+ per day EVERYDAY).

Then, last year, I produced my first near-$10k week (it was approx $9800 in 7 days). Again, it was something I was proud of and got me thinking of a $10k weekly income as being the norm. (NOTE: I wasn’t ear*ning $10k weekly on a consistent basis, in fact, I’m still not … but my paradigm of where my income level SHOULD be changed… and that’s what I needed).

Earlier this year, I helped build a campaign that produced roughly $64k in 6 days. Of which, just one email that I wrote in about 45 minutes while on holiday in Calgary added an extra $9000 approx to the bottom line. (Are you seeing the point yet? This is from the same guy who used to just be a bar-star and make less than $9 per hour!) And now… I’m part of a project that we’re releasing November 18th that I anticipate will break the $100k in 7 Days mark (gross Sales) but the end net-income is also expected to be a new milestone for me.

Here’s what “SUCKS″ about what I just told you there…
Years ago, this progression of someone who went from minimum-wage cook to now realistically facing a $100k in 1 week project (and then going well beyond) would have inspired me. And there’s a good chance that unless you’ve already covered all this ground that it would inspire you too… BUT… since the story is about me, me, me …it may sound like some inflated-ego brag-fest.

THAT IS NOT what it’s all about at all…
For me, BIRTHDAYs are the day that everyone should fully celebrate instead of all the empty, commercial holidays that corporations have made popular. I even feel employees should get their BIRTHDAYs off WITH PAY as it’s really a MUCH more important and true “holiday″ than any other…it’s a celebration of having been born! And during my past BIRTHDAY-week, that’s precisely what I did…

I enjoyed life (aka. slacked a lot!). My time off included relaxing lifestyle-treats like boating, my first time on dune buggies and just lazying in a hot-tub. AND THAT was a primary motivator for what now is my (belated) 28th-BIRTHDAY Sale.
